Ever wondered what happened after ‘House of the Dragon’? The latest GoT spinoff jumps 100 years straight into knighthood

Let's do the time warp again. After the spectacular events of House of the Dragon (We're team Alicent more than ever), fans are expecting to lag through another two-year lapse before the release of season 3, and all that blazes, burns and is platinum-white with our favourite family crest. Princess Rhaenys Targaryen. That's who we're pledging our fealty to.

Fear not, the tide is turning and this time we're looking to our good Sers to narrate the changes of Westerosi with the right smattering of pomp and gore. That's right: the latest addition to the Game of Thrones family will take a refreshing shift from the royals to the scabbard-sheathing. Below, we walk you through everything to know about A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Onwards. Let's proceed.

What is A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms about?

The series is set 100 years before the main Game of Thrones narrative and 100 years after the prequel House of the Dragon. This time, the story will follow not the infighting of the court houses, but the battlefield. Set in a time in Westerosi when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne, the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory. Manifest destinies, foes, and danger all await the ragtag crew of seven. Ser Duncan the Tall is our naive, still-green protagonist, accompanied by his squire Egg.

The storyline is still tightly under wrap, but we're expecting matters to be resolved through steel. Bloodlust and violence are native to any GoT show, but we have a feeling this one just might take the cake.

Who will appear in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms?

Peter Claffey will go on the series as Ser Duncan the Tall and Dexter Sol Ansell will play his squire Egg. The HBO series has cast Edward Ashley as Ser Steffon Fossoway and Henry Ashton (My Lady Jane) as Daeron Targaryen. Youssef Kerkour (House of Gucci) will star as Steely Pate. Daniel Monks will depict Ser Manfred Dondarrion, and Shaun Thomas as Raymun Fossoway. Tom Vaughan-Lawlor (Avengers: Infinity War) will take the role of Plummer and Danny Webb (HBO’s The Regime and The Dig) as Ser Arlan of Pennytree.

And make no mistake: the Daeron in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is not to be confused with the one in the prequel series. Daeron might just be the Westerosi shorthand for Lachlan in our own country.

When will the show go live?

Not much has been out in the world. The show's predicted release date is at the start of next year. When we know more, we'll be the first to let you know. We're out for blood and keeping our eyes out for more.
