Sundance Film Festival is living up to its reputation for putting buzzy, independent projects on a global stage. The latest flick to premiere at the festival to rave reviews? Sorry, Baby.

The breakout hit comes courtesy of comedian Eva Victor, who served as writer, director, and star. Shortly after its premiere, Sorry, Baby sparked an intense bidding war between studios Neon, Mubi and A24, with the latter ultimately taking it home for a reported $8 million. What is Sorry, Baby about?

The film charts the story of a college professor who is recovering from a sexual assault. Per the official logline: “Something bad happened to Agnes. But life goes on… for everyone around her, at least.”

While the specifics of the plot are under wraps, we do know that Sorry, Baby took home Sundance’s Waldo Salt Award for Screenwriting, and earned a 100 percent critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, which is no easy feat.

Starring alongside Victor in the project is Naomi Ackie, Lucas Hedges, John Carol Lynch, and Louis Cancelmi.
