If, like us, you're enamoured by sumptuous fabrics, you'll agree that 'Seductive' was a fitting title for the Emporio Armani's Fall Winter '25 menswear collection.
"To seduce is to draw others in, to captivate," read the show notes. And captivated we were, as the Italian label presented a version of the modern man. His wardrobe was born with effortless elegance in mind, with layering taking centre stage this season. Long coats grazed the runway as models walked, while blazers came boxy and confidently defined, and cardigans cropped to accentuate the waist.
The show notes continued: "Seduction is also a place: Intimate, refined and atmospheric, like a club, a lounge or a conversation circle where time seems to slow." The colour palette of the collection was "inspired by the cosy environments" the Emprio Armani man frequents, and instantly transported us to this elusive, luxurious location, with a wash of warm, dense tones like tobacco, cognac, and chocolate offset by rich pops of colour: mauve, turquoise, and gold.
But perhaps most luxuriously seductive of all were the fabrications, so carefully considered down to a glint of gold thread woven through a knitted pullover. Suave leather overcoats glistened underneath the lights, while a longer jacket — paired unexpectedly over a dinner suit — was finished in shearling. Similarly, bomber jackets were crafted from rich, thick fabrics and treated to evoke intricate brocades and tapestries. Smatterings of leopard print — from coats and shirts to loafers — brought a youthful edge to the collection, while a heavy-handed helping of velvet dialled up the glamour.
Naturally, the collection's attention to detail extended to accessories, all of which were delightfully camp. Hats came in every variety, from an animal print beret, to a thick tweed baker boy. Layers also extended to scarves, which ranged from smaller velvet neck ties, to faux fur lapels. Several bags also made their way down the runway, including a series of capacious top-handle totes, and equal parts practical and covetable cross-body bags.
And finally, proving that practicality and seductiveness can co-exist in the same collection, Armani also included a line of snow wear, including ultra padded puffer jackets, ski pants, gloves, and goggles, in shades of mustard green and vibrant pink.
