While I love the twists and turns of a suspenseful drama, there's something to be said for feel-good television. And perhaps no show has done it better over the years than Ted Lasso.
Starring Jason Sudeikis as the titular character, the show won our hearts for its unique brand of heartwarming storytelling. In case you've somehow managed to miss the hype of the first three seasons, Ted is an American football who is hired to manage a British soccer team. Embarking halfway across the world for the challenge, what he lacks in knowledge about the sport, he makes up for in optimism, determination, and humour.
Now, it looks like there could be more Ted Lasso-goodness to come, according to Sudeikis' co-star Nick Mohammed (who plays Nick Shelley). Taking to X, Mohammed announced that he was rescheduling his upcoming Show Pony comedy tour, “for some filming I have not been able to shift for love of money.”
He continued, “I cannot say what that filming is. But it will be announced shortly."

But it was what he did next that really drove home the theory of a new Ted Lasso season four: holding up a sing hand-painted with the word 'BELIEVE' (a trademark of Ted Lass), Mohammed said: “In the meantime, I would really appreciate if people just didn’t speculate as to what they think it might be. The last thing I want is for people to be going mad.”
So, is a fourth season really on the horizon? Let's investigate.
Will there be a Ted Lasso season four?
Strengthening the rumours, co-creator Bill Lawrence told Deadline that a fourth season would be entirely dependent on Sudeikis' willingness to return to the series.
“Jason Sudeikis is the voice, heart, driving factor behind the show, not only professionally, but on a personal level, that’s the dude whose life gets upended and who would be making the biggest sacrifices. The only sure bet in Hollywood is that nobody involved with Ted Lasso will ever, ever speak about it until Jason makes his decision of who he wants to talk to and what he wants to tell.”
And, while the show was originally conceived as a three-season arc, after the third season aired, Warner Bros. Television was reportedly in negotiations with three original cast members: Hannah Waddingham (Rebecca Welton), Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent), and Jeremy Swift (Leslie Higgins). Similarly, Deadline reported that Juno Temple (Keeley Jones) was also in the midst of contract negotations in August, 2024.
So, could this trilogy become a tetralogy? We certainly believe so.
