It's official: there's another Matildas baby on the way. Rounding out an epic professional year, Tillies team captain Sam Kerr has shared some special personal news, confirming she and partner Kristie Mewis are set to become a family of three in 2025. Not only are the couple set to be parents (to a soccer prodigy, no doubt), but their relationship has gone from strength to strength in the last few years, with the two announcing their engagement back in September, 2023. So, in honour of these exciting milestones, we're looking back at our favourite relationship in women's soccer, both on and off the field.

Mewis and Kerr took to Instagram to share the news of their growing family, with a black and white photobooth snap (featuring their sonogram, of course). They kept the announcement low-key, simply captioning the post: "Mewis-Kerr baby coming 2025!"

In arguably the best humble brag of all time, on a recent trip to Perth, Mewis made sure to stop in at the Sam Kerr Football Centre. The venue was officially renamed in Kerr's honour in October, 2023, after undergoing a $50 million renovation.
