Where to dine on Christmas day in Sydney

Maybe you're not much of a cook. Maybe you're just too exhausted from this year to be bothered. But either way, you want to have a standout Christmas lunch in Sydney on the cards. But without all the prep work and cleanup.

If you're in Sydney, there are plenty of restaurants thrusting open their doors on Christmas Day, serving banquet-style meals with all the comfort and hospitality you could want. So, we've rounded up some of our favourite spots that we think should be on your list to book in to...

 

1. The Winery (Surry Hills)

Open: 12–11 pm

Menu: 3-course shared menu

Cost: Adults $180pp, kids $50

The Winery will be putting on a three-course feasting menu (with a glass of Champagne on arrival) for $180pp this Christmas. The share-style feasting menu features a host of traditional serves for an indulgent Christmas lunch, like Sydney rock oysters with scampi caviar; BBQ king prawns with lemon garlic butter; Turkey Ballotine with prosciutto and creamy potato mash; and Lobster Spaghetti. They also have a curated kid-friendly Christmas menu available for children 12 years and under at $50, which includes dessert and a drink (so the little cousins can enjoy too).

 

2. Kingsleys (Woolloomooloo)

Open: Seatings are at 11am and 2pm, and are 2.5 hours long

Menu: 4-course menu

Cost: Adults $249pp, kids $55pp

Enjoy Christmas Day lunch in style whilst taking in harbour and city views from Sydney’s iconic Woolloomooloo Finger Wharf at Kingsleys. For Christmas Day, the venue is offering a four-course menu, plus a glass of Moet on arrival for $249pp (there's also a $55pp menu for kids 12 and under).

 

3. Little Pearl (Manly)

Open: 4–10 pm. All seatings are 2.5 hours long.

Menu: 10-course shared menu

Cost: Adults $199pp, 13–17 years $90pp, under 12s $45pp

There's nothing more Australian than a Christmas by the beach at hawker-style bar and restaurant, Little Pearl. With prime ocean views of Manly beach, they're offering a 10-course set menu with a focus on Asian-inspired hawker-style shared plates (complete with 2.5-hour drinks package and arrival cocktail) for $199pp. Little ones are catered for also, with packages available for under 12s (includes kids’ meal and unlimited soft drinks for $45pp) and 13–17 years (includes a 10-course set menu and unlimited soft drinks for $90pp).

 

4. BrewDog (South Eveleigh)

Open: 11 am–10 pm

Menu: A la carte Christmas specials

Cost: No set cost

If a pub feed is more your Christmas Day speed, then Brewdog's laid-back inner-city brewery will be open from 12–6pm on Christmas Day, offering festive specials a la carte, such as ½kg of QLD Prawns with BrewDog cocktail sauce and two-person lunch platters of roast turkey with chestnut, sage and onion stuffing, roast potatoes, cranberry sauce, roast carrots, broccolini and Yorkshire pudding.

 

5. The Charles Brasserie (CBD)

Open: From 11.30am

Menu: 3-course shared menu

Cost: Adults $195pp, kids $75

Celebrate Christmas with elegance and flair at The Charles Brasserie, where the atmosphere recalls the timeless charm of European dining. Delight in a three-course shared menu, featuring Sydney Rock oysters, roast dry-aged duck with festive sides, and a show-stopping Black Forest gateaux. Add a touch of indulgence with optional Wagyu beef wellington or roast foie gras, and don’t miss the luxe kid’s menu for a family-friendly feast.

Soluna, a light-filled, L.A.-inspired spot in North Sydney’s new dining precinct, is the perfect place for a relaxed family Christmas Day. The three-course shared menu features prawn cocktail cups, cherry-glazed ham, Karubi beef, and a selection of festive sides. Finish with individual Christmas pavlovas, while the kids enjoy a dedicated menu and space to play on the outdoor terrace.

 

7. Loulou Bistro (Lavendar Bay)

Celebrate Christmas with a touch of Paris at Loulou Bistro, Lavender Bay’s chic neighbourhood spot inspired by relaxed bistros of Paris and New York. Enjoy a three-course shared menu featuring charcuterie, scallop cru, and mains like grilled Murray cod and lamb with classic French sides, paired with a curated selection of French and Australian wines. Finish with festive desserts like cherries sur glace and pain d’épice spiced Madeleines, while the kid’s menu offers playful takes on seafood and roast spatchcock.

Menu: Set shared menu

Cost: Adults $299pp, kids $99pp

Skip the Christmas chaos and enjoy a seaside feast at Promenade with their set menu lunch for $299 per adult and $99 per child. If you're looking for something a little more casual, the venue's Front Yard Bar will be open from 7am, perfect for a post-swim drop-in at Bondi.

 

9. Continental Deli (Newtown)

Open: From 12pm

Menu: Set shared menu

Cost: Adults $250pp

Inner-west sider's rejoice because Continental Deli’s Christmas Banquet ($250 per person) kicks off with a glass of sparkling, followed by pickled mussel gildas, smoked confit trout with trout roe, and a show-stopping honey-glazed ham served with pickles and chutney. Finish with truffled brie and whipped honey, plus a classic Christmas pudding.

 

10. Ripples Chowder Bay (Mosman)

Open: Bookings from 11.30am

Menu: 3-course menu

Cost: Adults $295pp, kids $95pp

Enjoy a stress-free Christmas on the Sydney waterfront with a stunning 3-course set menu for $295 per person, complete with snacks and sides. Relax and take in the beautiful views of Chowder Bay while we serve up the season’s finest flavors. A special children’s menu is also available for $95 (for kids under 12).

Overlooking the stunning Sydney Harbour at Taronga Zoo, Me-Gal presents a festive feast against a picturesque backdrop. The indulgent three-course shared menu features favorites like Sydney rock oysters, heirloom tomatoes with stracciatella, king prawn tataki, lemon myrtle turkey breast, Ora king salmon, and a decadent chocolate forest dessert with lychee caviar, plus a variety of sides.
