Pink is the hue this festive season, according to CHANEL.
The house recently released the CHANEL Holiday beauty collection, a limited suite of products designed by Cometes Collective artist Valentina Li. It's inspired by winter, and the brightness of the aurora borealis; a blur of fuchsia, rose, coral, purple, magenta and silver that transforms when the light hits.
Valentina Li is one third of CHANEL's beauty artistry collective. It was painting and colour that initially drew her to makeup, a characteristic that's really evident in her work with CHANEL. Holiday 2024 is all about celestial colour shift, Arctic lights, shimmer, frost and a winter sky. Even if you're a makeup minimalist, the collection is beyond beautiful and surprisingly user friendly. There's an exclusive Diamond Dust illuminating powder and Enchanted Night eye palette, as well as limited shades of Le Liner, Ombre Premiere Laque, Rouge Allure, Rouge Allure L'Extrait and Le Vernis.
For the campaign, Li worked with model and CHANEL muse Vittoria Cerreti; the look is as if she's been outside in the snow. Rosy cheeks, a purple-ish lip and pink eyes with a subtle blue shimmer.

Even without Li's artistry background, it's not that difficult to emulate or use the collection at home (to fuel your own social agenda this festive season).
Here are some of my tips for shine at home:
The eyes have it
The Enchanted Night palette is made for bold eye moves. If you're confident, blend a few of the brighter shades across your lid and lash line, otherwise just press the silver topper in the centre and finish with lots of mascara. You can even tap it onto your lashes for a 'caught in the snow' type finish.
A bold lip
Nothing says 'I put in effort' like a lip. Pat in Rouge Allure Laque in the shade Cristal Pink until you build up your desired intensity. The best thing about this formula is that it dries down to a weightless finish for all night wear.
Glistening skin
If you're less inclined to go bold with colour, focus on an illuminated complexion instead. The Diamond Dust Illuminating has a peachy-pearl tone that works all over the face. Dust liberally onto eyelids, the tops of the cheekbones, the cupid's bow, under the arch of the brow and on your collarbones. If you want extra impact, use the magenta shade from the Enchanted Night Palette on the apples of your cheeks. Low effort, high impact.
