Netflix just confirmed 'Stranger Things' S5 release and title episodes

Grab your Eggo waffles and get your walkie-talkies ready, because Stranger Things is revving up for one last trip to Hawkins – and it’s shaping up to be a season of epic 80s proportions.

Overnight, Netflix officially confirmed that the fifth and final season of the supernatural series will land in 2025, bringing the story to a climactic close. The announcement fittingly coincided with 'Stranger Things Day', November 6, 1983, the fateful day young Will Byers was yanked into the Upside Down, turning Hawkins into ground zero for monster-fighting teens and nostalgic horror fans alike.

Set in the fall of 1987, four years after the gang’s first face-off with Demogorgons and Mind Flayers, this season promises to bring all the core cast back for a proper goodbye. From behind-the-scenes peeks featuring the beloved Finn Wolfhard, Winona Ryder, and David Harbour, it’s clear that Season 5 is leaning into everything fans love: friendship, mystery, and a whole lot of ‘80s heart. Buckle up; this ride into the Rightside Up is bound to be one heck of a farewell.

What's been announced?

The latest reveal? A list of episode titles that practically hum with mystery, nodding back to earlier seasons while dropping new hints about what’s lurking in the shadows. Among them, “The Crawl,” “The Vanishing of…,” and “The Turnbow Trap” give us tantalising callbacks. “The Vanishing of…” (the full name still cloaked in secrecy) calls back to the series premiere, “The Vanishing of Will Byers.” Fans online are abuzz, speculating that the next unlucky abductee could be Holly Wheeler, Mike’s little sister, potentially adding fresh family drama to Hawkins’ ever-deepening abyss.

A few other titles signal fresh horrors. “Shock Jock” likely ties to Hawkins’ radio station, WSQK, and “Escape from Camazotz” may hint at a strange homage to A Wrinkle in Time's ominous, mind-controlling planet. And, in a fitting twist, the finale has been named “The Rightside Up,” suggesting that after all the chaos, Hawkins might finally break free from the Upside Down’s eerie grip.

Who is in the cast?

The full cast will be returning for S5, including lead (and newly married) Millie Bobby-Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin and Sadie Sink. Of course, returning cast will also include Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Winona Ryder, Maya Hawke, David Harbour, and Joe Keery (whose band Djo will be heading to Laneway Festival in early February).

When will it be released?

The fifth season of Stranger Things has been confirmed by Netflix to have a 2025 release. However, no exact date has been set just yet.
