Postcards from Marrakech with Shona Joy’s Head of Brand and Creative, Ashton Eramya

Morroco

It's hard not to feel inspired in a city like Marrakech. From the bustling streets of the medina, to the hidden pockets of tranquility of the resort-style riads, and the idyllic natural landscapes hidden just outside the city's walls, there's plenty to see and experience in this Moroccan oasis. It makes sense, then, that Ashton Eramya, Shona Joy's Head of Brand and Creative, journeyed through the city on the hunt for inspiration for the brand's Resort '25 collection. But in addition to reference gathering and location scouting, Eramya made time to eat, shop and explore on his Morrocan pilgrimage. So, how to see the city... and see it well? From fragrant souks to sun-drenched rooftops, Eramya shares his guide to Marrakech exclusively with RUSSH, below.

Stay...

Nestled just a short stroll from Jemaa el-Fna, El Fenn is a hidden oasis in the heart of the medina. Designed as a labyrinth for today’s global explorers, this guesthouse perfectly balances traditional Moroccan charm with modern luxury.

For a tranquil escape, Beldi Country Club offers a resort-style stay with expansive gardens and an on-site Beldi Souk—ideal for those who prefer a gentler introduction to Marrakesh’s bustling markets.

Riad Jardin Secret is a bohemian haven with quirky vintage decor, lush gardens, and an intimate rooftop offering panoramic views. A laid-back spot to unplug.

Eat...

The terrace at Nomad, overlooking the Place des Epices, fuses fresh and revisited Moroccan cuisine accompanied by '60s Scandi-inspired interiors. Afterwards, stop by Chabi Chic downstairs in the lobby to pick up a souvenir.

Tucked away behind unassuming doors, Limoni is an Italian-Moroccan bistro with a lush lemon grove courtyard and offers one of the city’s best-kept secrets for dining.

Iconic in Marrakesh, Dar Yacout.

Discover...

Newly renovated, Medersa Ben Youssef is a former islamic college turned museum that boasts incredible architecture and zellij tiling. Touristy but not overrated.

For those wanting to skip the mainstream museums, head to Maison de la Photographie for a captivating photographic journey through Morocco's history.

No visit is complete without seeing the Musée Yves Saint Laurent and Jardin Majorelle – which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.

For a hands-on experience, try a workshop in local crafts guided by skilled artisans in the heart of the medina at Les Ateliers d'Ailleurs.

Shop...

At LRNCE, the vibrant spirit of the city is captured in hand-painted ceramics, textiles and one-of-kind decor, each complete with a distinct edge.

Curated by local artisans, Moro is a chic boutique curated by local artists filled with fragrances, home goods and accessories with a contemporary twist.
