‘Industry’s’ Myha’la is trading suits for front row fashion

Myha’la Industry

HBO’s hit series, Industry, has had us on the edge of our seats for three seasons now. But perhaps no character has caused our pulse to quicken quite so much as Harper Stern. The truth-bending finance analyst has a knack for keeping audiences on tenterhooks, as she chaotically schemes and compulsively plots her way to the top of Pierpoint, the fictional London-based investment firm where most of the series takes place. And as the dust settles on season three’s expectedly chaotic finale, we’re turning our attention to Myha’la, the actress responsible for bringing our favourite suit-wearing finance bro to life.

Who is Myha’la?

Industry is not the only hit Myha’la been attached to. The 28-year-old Californian has had roles in the likes of Modern Love, Bodies Bodies Bodies, and Leave The World Behind. Before that, she was a student at Carnegie Mellon's School of Drama, where she graduated in 2018. Soon after, she cut her teeth with roles in theatre, most notably in a production of The Book of Mormon, before getting her start on the silver screen.

Fans of Industry might also have noticed that, in season three, Myha’la was credited mononymously. Previously, the actress had gone by her full name, Myha’la Herrold, but chose to drop her surname professionally because she felt it was at odds with her unique first name.

She's a fashionable force in her own right

When she’s not at work,  Myha'la is also making a name for herself as a force to be reckoned with in the fashion world. Not only does she have personal style in spades, but Myha'la has also become a front row fixture, regularly attending shows for the likes of Loewe, Thom Brown, Chanel and Miu Miu. She's also tapped into fashion's obsession with method dressing, regularly putting a high fashion spin on suiting when showing up to promote Industry. We can't blame her: we'd be eyeing off a spot on the trading floor if it meant rocking up to work in this to-die-for Thom Browne ensemble too.
