Spring tailoring: the ‘RUSSH’ editors’ favourites this season

Spring calls for a wardrobe refresh and restructure for the rest of the year — and maybe some new swimwear? But truly, what screams springtime refresh more than crisp, lightweight tailoring?

I could argue that one's wardrobe without tailoring could be considered an outright crime – so, if one may find themselves in a bind (and in a wardrobe related crime), the RUSSH editors are here to bail you out. Read on to find what tailored pieces we are coveting this season.

Spring tailoring to me means something light enough to wear in the warm weather but still looks effortlessly polished. To me, no one does this better than Australian cult brand Posse. If you remember, the brand’s tailored button up tank went viral a couple of years back after Sofia Richie wore it during her wedding week. I love this coord set in light blue. You could wear it to the office or on vacation, it’s so versatile and at the top of my list. I bought a pair of St Agni suit pants at a warehouse sale last year and I wear them so much that I think it’s time to buy the matching blazer. I also need a new white oxford shirt, my current J. Crew one is too small. So far I love this Scanlan & Theodore one, but I am open to other options. And just as a treat, I think this tailored cami from Maison Essentiele is perfect for the silly season.

One of the biggest struggles I face in my wardrobe as the seasons heat up is finding pieces that are both appropriate for the office, without being suffocating. And with blazers dominating so much of the traditional tailoring industry, it has been a struggle in prior years. However, this season, St. Agni have seemingly solved all my problems. I first fell in love with this beautiful Wide Waistband Column Skirt in the smoky olive colour (a step away from black), and then discovered it could be paired with the matching tunic. And on the dream wishlist are these Evalin Shorts from P Johnson Femme, providing the perfect alternative to a trouser, which I would style with their iconic silk organza bodice top and these Bottega Veneta earrings.

I have been infatuated with Beare Parks suits at the moment. Especially the Agnes Blazer in Oat with the matching Alexander skirt, I saw our EIC wearing one of their suits, and it looked incredible. Another tailored piece is this Acne Studios poplin-knit top that is so fun and has a great fit. And after watching the Loewe Spring/Summer 25 show, I was obsessed with Ayo Edebiri’s black suit pinched at the front with a silver piece. While I wait for that to come out… I really love a poplin or collared shirt, particularly from Miu Miu, like this shirt is a dream. Sandy Liang also has incredible tailored pieces that are gorgeous and feminine. This Jasper Dress is incredibly gorgeous, and very prada-esque.

IMO, no one does tailoring quite like CAMILLA AND MARC, and their sage green Pompidou Blazer and Hi-rise Trouser are top of my list right now. I also adore A.Emery ever since I adopted one of their beautiful sweaters into my winter wardrobe rotation, and The Ames Jacket is a gorgeous utilitarian piece with a Japanese-inspired edge that I’m eyeing off next. I also still think the Burberry Mid-length Camden Heritage Car is pretty unbeatable in terms of a tailored silhouette.

I could do with a new pair of tailored shorts for spring, this fun Burberry pair in the Ssense sale caught my eye (and I could do with something that isn’t black). If money were no object, these Stanton Shorts by The Row are dreamy.

I’ve had Camilla and Marc’s Deacon Blazer on my wishlist for a while now, the crop is ideal for spring but easy to layer when it gets colder. I’m keeping tabs on the matching pants too, they’d be perfect with sandals and a t-shirt.

I love tailoring, so I have a few pieces I’d love to pick up. St. Agni kills it in this space and for a blue moment, I love the Carter vest and matching trousers (currently on sale at the time of posting). I am a curvy girl so this mini skirt is out of my comfort zone but I love the style.

This GANNI poplin shirt dress is cute and very spring, so onto my wishlist she goes.

I love everything about Havre Studio and I’m obsessed with their two-into-one vintage blazers. This one is online again soon so I’ll be setting alarms to pick one up!

More often than not, I find myself standing in front of my wardrobe before work and despairing that I simply have nothing to wear. But I’ve come to realise that tailoring is an easy way to solve this problem. As the weather heats up, I'm eyeing off pieces that are loose, breathable, but still look put together – like these ‘90s Panelled Pants by St Agni, which can be easily dressed down with leather thongs and a baby tee. For maximum impact (and minimal effort), matching sets are also a great option, an area that Matteau excels in. This tailored waistcoat and trouser combo is chic worn separately or together. And as the weather really heats up, I’m thinking about adding a pair of longline shorts into my rotation.
