Barry Keoghan probably has a better skincare routine than you

We know that celebrities go to great lengths in order to look good. But I didn't expect that actor Barry Keoghan would have the greatest skincare routine of them all.

The Saltburn star has exploded in the last two years. There was that bath water scene, a cameo in girlfriend Serena Carpenter's Please Please Please film clip, the recent premiere of Bird at the Toronto Film Festival and his confirmation in the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie. He was also crowned a 2024 hot rodent boyfriend by the internet.

Keoghan is on fire, and so it makes sense that he wants his skin to reflect this supernova status. Fortuitously, his facialist Nilam Holmes shared an extensive Instagram post detailing Keoghan's entire skincare routine. And it's insane.

Homes started by comparing the cultivation of skin health to building a house: "You have to make sure all the foundations are solid before you do the surface work." She's known in Hollywood for her clinical approach, combining high tech but non-invasive treatments with topical at-home care. Coincidentally, she's also a much-loved brow artist.

In line with her skin ethos, Keoghan has a locked in treatment schedule that includes:

  • Emface to tone and lift. Holmes calls this out as a good one for actors who want to reduce lines and wrinkles but can't risk the loss of expression that comes with anti-wrinkle injections (such as Botox).
  • Ultraformer to tighten and stimulate collagen: "This was particularly brilliant in reducing the under eye festoons which are genetic and can make you look tired."
  • Collagenwave to stimulate collagen and tighten skin.
  • Skinpen to target skin texture (this is combined with ExoCoBio AsCe plus Slvr exosomes). From what I can gather, Exosome science is in the same world as stem cell therapy to encourage cell communication, and skin regeneration.
  • Lumecca for pigmentation (an IPL treatment that breaks down discoloured cells).
  • Finally Alma Clear Skin laser for breakouts.

Even for a skin treatment enthusiast, this is a a committed roster of lasers, needling, ultrasound and IPL. But Holmes is the best in her field, and Keoghan's glow doesn't lie.

His at-home routine is a mix of iS Clinical (a celebrity favourite — I love the Active Serum), Puromist Skin Spray, CellDerma by Dr Dev Patel and custom blends Holmes makes herself.

The final step? NAD+ injections from Vaion and Nuchido time-release NAD capsules. NAD stands for nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide and is big in the longevity medicine space. NAD transfers electrons between molecules, and is responsible for the metabolic reactions that create cellular energy. It's also closely linked to the proper functioning of our circadian rhythm.

According to Keoghan, his skin is 'the best it's ever looked'. And based on the above I get it. Taking recommendations from these two only going forward.
