What’s on the ‘RUSSH’ editors’ shopping list in August

As we move into the last few weeks of Winter and well into the second half of the year, it's a time to pause, reset and prep ourselves for a successful remainder of 2024. This could mean a wardrobe clear out, a homewares refresh or some new accessories to spruce things up.

So, what are the RUSSH Editors spending their money on this month? From vintage treasures and transeasonal basics to beauty essentials – we are here to take you through what we have on our shopping lists. Enjoy.

Charlotte Tilbury's More Sex fragrance is the latest addition to my beauty bag this month, and I’ve been loving it for nights out as opposed to my usual day-to-day fragrance. I’ve got my eye on the TANCHEN Studio x Morning tableware capsule to add to my already too-big collection of serveware. &Daughter’s latest cashmere ‘Underpinnings’ collection is also top of my list for some new, transeasonal basics. I’m also deeply and irrevocably in love with the Miu Miu Aventure bag – but we’ll have to see if that one ever manifests itself. And lastly, who could go past the Luella Pearl Bow Earrings from Saint Valentine’s new bridal jewellery collection?

This month my shopping list has been overrun by travel necessities for an upcoming trip. I have a couple things in the post as I write this –  the Aesop Departure kit, as well as some new Briogeo superfoods shampoo and conditioner that I’ll dispense into travel size containers. I’m in need of an eye mask for the flight to the States, and this one from Slip will work.

I’ll be doing a lot of walking while on holiday, so I was looking to purchase a pair of comfortable shoes that are styled easily. These Nike V2Ks look amazing so I might have to pull that trigger asap. I’m in need of some durable gold hoops that I can use everyday and these chunky huggie hoops from Mejuri are perfect. Lastly, Rolla's has released a model off-duty capsule with Shanina Shaik and while we all have an opinion on barrel jeans – these ones are balanced and chic. Adding to cart immediately.

Blame it on the Olympics, but I am enjoying sporty/preppy fashion right now, like this soft polo knit from Leset. It’s thin enough to layer, but light enough to wear well into Spring. I need to restock my beloved La Roche-Posay Cicaplast B5+, as well as my favourite scent, Musc Ravageur from Frederic Malle. In a dream world, these Jacques Marie Mirage sunglasses would also find their way from my cart, and onto my face. Last one — a Stanley Cup. I know… silly! But there’s something about the design I feel would encourage me to drink more water. I plan to throw all my tinctures in there first thing and sip it all morning (I am very guilty of leaving half-drank glasses of water with probiotic powders/Chinese herbs/liquid collagen etc laying around — a wasteful and expensive habit).

I know it’s coming to the end of the winter season, but I haven’t been able to stop thinking about this A.Emery coat. I may have to give in and buy it just to get it out of my head. I’m a sucker for maxi skirts and have been heavily committed even before they recently came back into fashion. This St Agni piece is at the top of my wishlist right now, it’s perfect for all seasons and I know I’ll wear it a lot. I also need some new leggings. I live in activewear and I’ve just worn a hole through my favourite set and I’m planning on replacing them with these blue Henne leggings. I have them in black and they’re supremely comfortable. Beauty wise, Naked Sundays just released a foundation which I absolutely need to try. And finally, since my birthday is coming up, I’m looking at this ring from Argent Silversmith which you can customise with your birth stones.

I cannot stop thinking about this silly Miu Miu polo shirt, I love it so much. And once again, I have my somewhat deteriorating eyes set on the Miu Miu tort reading glasses from the PFW Fall ‘23 show (messy hair, already sorted). I’d love a new set of PJ’s, this colourway would usually be too loud for me but for some reason it’s calling my name!

And, this is premature but I will once again be trading the sunny, southern hemisphere for Christmas in France come December. I will need to get a new bag (with a working zip) before then and the Mr Chopalopagus by Deadly Ponies is top of the list. I strongly believe that one can never have too many coats, I adore this piece that I purchased from Friends with Frank recently but I plan on spending a lot of time outside with a hot chocolate in hand and I’ll likely need something a bit heavier. In a dream world, this would be the one.

Recently I’ve been doing a bit of domestic travelling, where I came to the conclusion after years of making use of duffle bags and passed down suitcases. I need my own carry-on. After viewing the Oroton x July carry-on trunk, my heart has been set on one, but might need to settle for the carry on trunk as it’s sold out. And as the temperatures drop quite low this winter, I would love to invest in a proper wool coat. And depending on how good my Tax return is, I might invest in this Khaite coat while it’s on sale. And like Em, I need to restock my all time favourite perfume (my signature scent) CHANELS Gardenia Eau De Parfum. And because my skin has been having an absolute field day with the pimples, I’m in desperate need for a pimple patch or spot treatment that actually works, Hormonal pimples are no joke. I might try tbh pimple patches.

I have to be a little more practical with my wardrobe and beauty spends this month as I’m dedicating all of my love to the new home. Seeing as I found a little vintage Chloe bag in Vinnies, I’m more or less sorted, however, this sleepwear by Olivia von Halle is wearable art and will be worn on Sunday mornings. Should spring ever come, I will face it in these new glasses by Saint Laurent, admired for their subtlety…In reality I would really like a Singer Heavy Duty Sewing Machine, in black obviously, sitting upon a black Pian Pian desk. It is time for a much overdue towel upgrade so this Speckle set from Cultiver would be wonderful for guests and permanent residents alike. And, like most of us feeling the burn as we edge out of winter, a trip to Zen facial wouldn’t go amiss.
