What is Deliver Me From Nowhere about?

Deliver Me From Nowhere has been billed as a narrative feature that follows Springsteen during the creation of his 1982 album Nebraska – which Springsteen considers his best work to date.

The film will take the lead from Warren Zanes’ 2023 book of the same name, which weaves together conversations with the Boss himself, and musical insiders like Rosanne Cash to Steven Van Zandt around the album's significance. We can only guess the film will invite us into process of creating Nebraska, and the turbulent environment Springsteen's sixth studio album was conceived in. It's likely that the movie will also touch on "the beginnings of a mental breakdown that Springsteen would only talk about openly decades after the album’s release," per the book's blurb.

Who else is involved?

Scott Cooper, the director behind Netflix's Edgar Allan Poe film The Pale Blue Eyeis on board to write and direct the project. Joining Allen White on camera is Stephen Graham as Springsteen’s dad, Paul Walter Hauser as guitar tech Mike Batlan, and Australian actress Odessa Young, who is rumoured to play Springsteen's love interest. And potentially adding to this already-stacked cast, back in May, Variety reported that Jeremy Strong is also in talks to play Jon Landau, Springsteen’s longtime

When will Deliver Me From Nowhere be released?

Filming is now underway in Bruce Springsteen's native neighbourhoods of New Jersey and New York. Some additional production is expected to take place in Los Angeles, with the film slated for release in 2025. We'll keep you updated as we know more.
