What is the plot of Apples Never Fall?
If the novel sits unopened on your bedside table, here's a brief synopsis on what to expect from the TV show, which will hold true to the source material given Moriarty was a producer. Taking place across seven episodes, the show follows the Delaney's, a tennis-obsessed family who from the outside appear happy and contented.
While the book was set in Sydney, shooting for the series took place on the Gold Coast, and the TV series will be set in Florida.
The parents of four adult children, Stan and Joy Delaney have been married for decades and their relationship seems picture perfect. But when Joy goes missing and police list Stan as the number one suspect, the children are forced to look at their parent's marriage in a new light and confront long-buried family secrets.
Cast details
Nyad lead Annette Bening will star as Joy Delaney, while Australian legend Sam Neill will play her husband Stan. Jake Lacy from Girls, High Fidelity and The White Lotus has been tapped to play Troy, the second eldest child, while Alison Brie will play the black sheep eldest.
Excitingly, the series will also star newcomers Essie Randles (a Sydney local) and Conor Merrigan-Turner, both play the youngest of the siblings, Brooke and Logan, respectively.
