Introducing the FASHION FOR YES initiative
As we near Saturday's nation-wide referendum vote, the FASHION FOR YES initiative brings together leaders in the industry in support of enshrining a First Nations Voice in the Australian constitution. First Nations supporters and allies that took part in the campaign include model Magnolia Maymuru, Commentator and Television Producer Leila Gurruwiwi, Yatu Widders-Hunt, Yvonne Weldon, Genevieve Smart, Anna Plunkett, Sarah Munroe, Emma Mullholland, Mikey Nolan, and Bella Thomas.
Song for the Mute x adidas sophomore collab
Song for the Mute have dropped their second global collaboration with sports juggernauts adidas, which includes both sneakers and apparel available to purchase globally from next Friday, 20 October.
Their pre-released Black Campus sneaker colour way sold out within 3 hours last week, so we're expecting next week's drop to be hot property.
Louis Vuitton announce first Men's Prefall show in Hong Kong
Louis Vuitton have announced that the vibrant cosmopolitan city of Hong Kong will be the location of its first-ever Men's Prefall show. The Maison and the city of Hong Kong share a 40-year history, dating back to their first store opened locally in 1979 at East Tsim Sha Tsui. In the years since, they've opened exhibitions together – A Passion for Creation and Time Capsule – and a dedicated City Guide that gave visitors the opportunity to discover Hong Kong through a uniquely local lens.
The upcoming runway show will take place on 30 November, and marry the vibrancy and history of the city with the artistic vision of LV's Men's Creative Director Pharrell Williams.
Lee Mathews presents their Resort 24 collection
Taking inspiration from Lee Miller, May Ray and the caravanserai of Parisian Surrealists of the 1920s and 30s, Lee Mathews's latest Resort 24 collection is both dreamlike and symbolic, leaning into a more liberated and unconventional approach to dressing. Le Corbusier's Architectural Polychromy informs the Resort 24 palette, dominated by dusty greys, lemon yellow, subdued cinnamon and ecru to both captivate and ground.
Ralph Lauren's Pink Pony Initiative
More than 30 years ago, Ralph Lauren made a personal commitment to support the fight against cancer. The House have launched this year's Pink Pony Initiative, which supports programs for cancer research, screenings, early diagnosis, treatment, education and patient navigation. This year's campaign build on their commitment to raising funds by donating 100% of purchase price from Pink Pony collection sales.
The collection will be available globally this month in select Ralph Lauren stores and on their website, alongside a series of in-store activations to raise awareness and funds for Pink Pony at key flagship stores in New York, Chicago, Sydney, Singapore, Beijing, and Shanghai.
SIR. drop Resort 24 collection
SIR. have released their Reflexiòn Collection, which infuses sir. classics with with contemporary patterns and bold colour ways. The collection includes an exciting collaboration with LA-based artist Frankie Tobin, which entails organic shapes painted exclusively for SIR. cast across swim and silk ready-to-wear pieces.
The brand's Resort 24 collection will be available in two collection drops across October and November.
Valentino partners with La Triennale Milano
Italian fashion House Valentino have partnered with La Triennale Milano, starting from this month, continuing to strengthen their relationship with the arts field. Since 1923, Triennale Milano has been one of world’s leading cultural institutions, conveying the complexities of the contemporary world in a host of artistic forms: design, architecture, and the visual, scenic, and performing arts.
To celebrate the institution's 100 year anniversary, they wll be partnering with Maison Valentino to host the Exhibition Pittura Italiana Oggi, curated by Damiano Gullì, and open to the public from 25 October (until 11 February 2024). The exhibit will be dedicated to contemporary Italian painting that brings together the work of 120 of the most interesting Italian male and female artists of different generations, born between the sixties and two thousand.
LOEWE introduce the Cloudtilt sneaker
Spanish fashion House LOEWE have introduced their newest show, the Cloudtilt sneaker, made in collaboration with On. Made for wearers on-the-move, the sneaker blends Swiss engineering with the House's meticulous Spanish craftsmanship – a continuation of their shared exploration of craft and tech.
The shoe will be available in two drops, each with their own colour way (a total of 11 colour ways will be available). The first drop is already live, with the second scheduled for 2 January 2024.
A.Emery launches first Ready-to-Wear collection
Footwear brand A.EMERY have debuted their first Ready-to-Wear collection, ushering in a new era for the evolving label. After six years in the footwear space, the brand's new collection will cover an array of wardrobe staples that are pragmatic, refine and which speak to their existing ethos.
IMG announce Australian Fashion Laureate 2023 winners
IMG have announced the winners of this year's Australian Fashion Laureate, which honours excellence and outstanding accomplishment in the Australian fashion industry. Hosting a luncheon at Sydney's iconic Bennelong Restaurant, the afternoon saw Designer of the Year presented to Christopher Esber, and Emerging Designer of the Year awarded to Alix Higgins. Indigenous Designer of the Year was presented to Denni Francisco, Ngali.
