The lead up to Barbie has coloured our worlds bubblegum pink. It's sparked a flood of collaborations between Mattel and, well just about everything – from Glasshouse to Impala Skates to Balmain. There's a Barbie Dreamhouse listed on Airbnb. Nicki Minaj, Ice Spice, Lizzo, Billie Eilish and Dua Lipa feature on the hyped soundtrack. Margot Robbie is recreating the doll's most memorable outfits at each global premiere. And that's all before we get started about TikTok, where creators are sharing their best Barbie-inspired fits, eating pink burgers and dyeing their pools pink. Seriously. What's more, it seems everyone is joining in on the marketing hype with fatigue nowhere to be seen. So how is the world responding Barbie, and what are the reactions like across the internet?
So with the film debuting in cinemas across the country and the first reviews trickling in, we thought we'd take the temperature on how audiences are feeling about Greta Gerwig's Barbie. Feminist hero, capitalist cash cow, or perhaps something more nuanced? There verdict is in and here are the best internet reactions to Barbie.
