Watch the exclusive music video premiere for Jack Ladder's new single 'Home Alone'

Jack Ladder is back. The sincere and sarcastic song writer has just released his latest single, Home Alone, ahead of his next greatest record, Tall Pop Syndrome, out on the 14th of July via Endless Recordings. Home Alone is a masterclass in the anti-pop song, infectious and mysterious, obvious and obscure, and ultimately satisfying. Ladder invites us to dance with him and all his deceased icons, transcending into unified euphoria, without having to leave your house.

The perfect culmination of Bryan Ferry and Oscar the Grouch, Ladder returns to our ears with a playfully poignant track, brought to life by Kim Moyes of The Presets. With an awareness that time is money, Ladder keeps it short and sweet, crystallising the essence of a song in three minutes. In his latest video, directed by Stephanie Jane Day, we are made curiouser and curiouser as we enter his Alice in Wonderland-esque home. The unlikely Saint Peter at the gates of heaven, Ladder unites with all the latest and greatest deceased icons of music, in his otherworldly landscape to dance alone. Honouring his icons, Ladder plays meaningful tribute to the musicians that shaped his own writing, beyond the superficial tokenistic outpourings of social media.

Ahead of his European tour, Ladder will be playing with Weyes Blood at The Princess Theatre in Brisbane on the 3rd of June, debuting songs from the forthcoming Tall Pop Syndrome and paying tribute to his monolithic catalogue. On Home Alone, Ladder tells RUSSH, that this is some of his most personal and favourite song writing to date. “Home Alone explores the difference between being alone and being lonely, who could be lonely with an extensive record collection?”
