The ‘slob’ lazy bob is a low-maintence girl’s dream

slob haircut

Long gone are the days where we aspired toward mermaid-like locks à la 80s Daryl Hannah in Splash. Instead, it's news to absolutely no one that short hair is undeniably having a moment right now. From the 90s heartthrob bob, to the effortlessly undone French bob, short do's are making a comeback on runways and on the heads of A-listers alike. But the latest hair micro-trend to pique our interest is the lazy girl bob, or 'slob' if you will. It's an alternative haircut for the self-proclaimed low-maintenance girls amongst us, who just can't find the time or the effort each morning to pull out the straighteners or the texturising sprays to turn their hair into something half-decently acceptable.

What is the difference between the 'slob' and a regular bob?

The real clincher here is the lazy girl 'slob' look is effortless. You really don't have to invest in hair products and styling tools (that can frankly add up to an eye-watering amount), nor do you have to learn how to stop hitting snooze on your morning alarm to have the time to look presentable. It's a one-length style that does away with unnecessary layers and fringes, so it's forgiving between your infrequent trips to the salon.

It's also a pretty universally flattering look, fitting for a variety of hair types and textures, and suiting most face shapes.

What does it look like?

We're seeing this sleek and simple look pop up everywhere online, from influencers to A-listers. Below, we take you through some of our favourite ways we've seen this new do styled – from Alexa Chung's iconic tousled brown locks, to Emma Chamberlain's shaggy platinum blonde do.
