An ode to the classics: December luxury fashion favourites 2022

Here we are again, lusting over things we could never buy at once: December edition. The end of the year has arrived and with it, the desire for a clean slate. For our luxury fashion favourites this month, we're returning to the classics to ring in the new year.

What does this mean? Y2k revival and indie sleaze be damned, it's time to revisit our wardrobe staples for the year ahead and do away with any overly trendy items. For us, this means pieces we will own forever and wear until the end. Take, for example, the below loafers from Bottega Veneta, which will likely be worn until the soles need desperate attention, and then some.

Saint Laurent has always made the perfect fine singlets, so we're hoping these will be on our summer rotation for the months ahead, alongside beach staples from Gucci including but not limited to a classic black bikini with a 90s surprise around the back.

We're having a love affair with slouchy bags, so Celine and Miu Miu are offering up shapes that are both enduring and of the moment. We'll have both, please.

Loewe never fails to bring the Trompe L'oeil, and this time it's via denim, while Prada offers up a classic blazer with a twist – one that will no doubt be pulled out from our wardrobes in ten years time while we wax lyrical about how special it is. Finally, a pair of fine knit leggings from Jil Sander because who said fashion needs to be practical? And a forever timepiece from Cartier to beg your loved ones for.
