Ever since Julia Fox entered the mainstream limelight earlier this year, she's polarised us all in myriad ways. Some good, some questionable, especially towards the start of her widespread fame, but let's just chalk that up to the company she kept when she skyrocketed from famous in New York to famous across the globe in a few short weeks. One of the reasons people have gravitated towards her in recent months, is her TikTok account, where she's become an internet darling for her hot takes on society, capitalism, and fashion/beauty tutorials that relate to her iconic style.
If there's one thing about Julia Fox, it's that she's a resourceful queen, and the first point of proof is in her outfits, many of which are DIY. She doesn't gate keep these either, posting tutorials on Instagram and TikTok on end of world fashion by transforming a beach towel into a weirdly hot mini dress, and making her jeans go the extra mile by turning the waistband into a top. Her signature blacked-out cat eye and affinity for latex gloves even saw hundreds of people across the globe imitate her for Halloween this year (myself included). But the real beauty of Julia Fox's unmistakeable style is her clear-cut formula to success: the right accessories matter. For example, her humble towel dress went from 'kid running around in a beach towel poncho' to Project Runway slay once styled with thigh high boots, latex gloves, and sporty sunglasses, a classic Fox move. Ms Fox tells the world that it doesn't matter if you have to cut up an old tank top to make a matching top and skirt, if your accessories are up to date, it will all look like a very intentional design choice, and therein lies the magic of our current favourite celebrity.
If you're still not convinced, we're rounding up our favourite and most iconic Julia Fox style moments, below.
