TikTok has a case of the cosmic horn for Emma D'Arcy, and an interview snippet of D'Arcy in conversation with their fellow House of the Dragon cast member Olivia Cooke for HBO Max has only inflamed the situation.

Granted, Emma D'Arcy says all of five words ("A negroni, sbagliato, with prosecco") in response to Cooke's question about their favourite drink. Still, it's enough to have us foaming at the mouths with their voice echoing in our brains on loop. If that mouth-twitchy-raised-eyebrows thing they do kindles a fire deep in your loins, know you're not alone. The entire force of queer TikTok is right alongside you.

That being said, we're here to abate your thirst for D'Arcy with a drink of another kind. Below, Bar Planet General Manager Harrison Kenney shares his own recipe for the Negroni Sbagliato, offering up a little of the drink's history too. It's the perfect accompaniment to the weekly drop of House of the Dragon, if you're into that kind of thing.

What is a Negroni Sbagliato?

"One night in the late 1960s at Milan’s historic Bar Basso, owner and bartender Mirko Stocchetto accidentally or perhaps drunkenly reached for a bottle of Prosecco instead of gin when making a Negroni," Kenney explains. "Sbagliato means mistake in Italian, and thus the drink was born!"

How do you make a Negroni Sbagliato?

"Due to the nature of its loose conception, it’s a drink that’s likely to be inconsistent when ordered, after all the cocktail is called a mistake so you could argue that it’s impossible to mess up," Kenney reasons. "It’s really just a boozier Americano if anything which I absolutely love, so with that being said here’s what I recommend:"

Built over ice, pour 30ml Campari and 30ml Sweet Vermouth. Fearlessly topped with Prosecco and garnish with a wedge of orange. Salute!
