For over seven years Marin has spent time with some of the worlds most influential female creatives - from Miuccia Prada and Ann Demeulemeester to Annie Lennox and Debbie Harry - interviewing them and to mark the occasion, snapping a polaroid of each woman as they are in the moment. The project stemmed from a desire to capture women across a variety of creative industries, age groups and nationalities, giving them the space to be vulnerable and speak on their creative processes, personal lives - whatever they felt like.
The result? A 400-page tome which, after all this time, is finally ready to be sent out into the world. You'll find the polaroids alongside lengthy and insightful conversations between Marin and the artists. Hugo Huerta Marin first cut his teeth in the art world as an assistant to Marina Abramovic - a woman who needs no introduction - and she is of course included in Portrait of an Artist.
