“Urgency of Feelings” is what Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons dubbed their Prada Spring Summer 2022 menswear collection. A sentiment that feels rather apt given the runway setting. A bold red runway that opens out onto a pristine white beach lapped at by turquoise water, a notion of rebirth, into the light, where freedom and adventure are possible once again.
The urgency of exploration, super-charged emotion, hot boy summer, of short-shorts and sensuality all wrapped up in the heightened hems of swim trunks and woven knickers.

Filmed between Fondazione Prada’s red-walled Deposito in Milan and the pristine beaches of Sardinia, Simons and Prada sent slouchy vests, oversized blazers, cut out cashmere, heavy-duty leather, and bucket hats down the runway alongside so many iterations of shorts. There were knit shorts that resembled both swimwear and underwear, skort-like iterations with utilitarian belting, shorts made of suiting with casual, rolled up hems, and fluid playsuits in an array of colors and prints.
A collection that has us in Australia longing for the summertime and the utopian energy that accompanies it, Simons and Prada are ushering in a less bookish, more sexy silhouette, looks like the internet saying "don't think, just be hot." is really catching on.

As models tramped down the red tunnel onto the white-hot sands of the Mediterranean, footwear was something to note. Clad in square-toed sandals, classic patent oxfords and directional loafers, they venture over the rocky shoreline, relax on a glaringly red pontoon, and float in the crystal water. It is the summer dream we are all longing for, in a wardrobe that doesn't miss a beat.
