2021 is officially the year of the comeback. I mean, after the events of last year, there was certainly a lot to make up for. And as the saying goes, you can only go up – right? While we were certainly expecting big things from this year, today's biggest announcement is not one we could have ever, ever anticipated. The Diana Ross, disco queen, forever icon, vocalist extraordinaire, is making a return to music announcing her new album; the first in 15 years.
No, this is not a drill. The boss is officially back and if this isn't major I'm Coming Out energy round two, we don't know what is. Her new album, which is titled Thank You, is set to be released later this year around springtime; which makes it the perfect anthem tracklist for Australian summer. Thankfully, we won't have to wait that long to hear new music from Ross, as she has already released the title track and first single off the album today.
"This collection of songs is my gift to you with appreciation and love. I am eternally grateful that I had the opportunity to record this glorious music at this time," shared Ross in an Instagram post.
Continuing, “I dedicate this songbook of love to all of you, the listeners. As you hear my voice you hear my heart. Let love lead the way."

The new album was recorded by Ross in her home studio over the past year; in response to much of the heartache and challenges endured. Returning to the positive, vibrant and inclusive messaging her music has forever been synonymous with; Thank You is set to be an album of happiness, appreciation, and joy.
Springtime truly couldn't come any sooner. Until then, we'll be playing Thank You on repeat and channelling our inner Diana Ross in anticipation of her new album.
