Get ready to channel Maddy Perez from Euphoria. Graphic liner is one of the biggest trends in beauty right now.
Earlier in the year, we'd predicted this makeup trend was set to be huge with designers like Chanel featuring striking liner in its recent shows and makeup artists like Victoria Baron experimenting with illustrative looks.
But Afterpay Australian Fashion Week 2021 has confirmed that big, bright and bold liner is the makeup mood of the season. Designer after designer showed us how beauty can be bold but polished and extreme but wearable. And there were certainly a few standout moments that we've wrapped up for your perusal.
Below, find our favourite graphic eyeliner looks from the week.
Straight lines at bassike Resort 22
Models at bassike wore striking black and coloured liner looks with an otherwise minimal makeup look. The liner was applied in straight block lines on the upper lid for a dramatic effect.
All drama at Romance was Born Resort 22
Minimal Romance Was Born is not. Maximalism is the name of the game here and we love to see it. Of course the makeup looks matched the clothes and models sported big, bold eyes with drama coloured undereye liner.
Eyes on the prize at Daniel Avakian Resort 22
Daniel Avakian was all about sharp suiting and the beauty looks were there to match. Simple but bold, models wore red or black liner in unexpected ways. We saw winged looks, buffed out blended looks and illustrative lines.
Paint it red at Yousef Akbar Resort 22
Yousef Akbar's show was one of the most exciting and different collections we saw this week. A show of voluminous, spangling and sharp evening wear, it was a sight to behold. Models were styled with red or turquoise cat-eye liner with a strong wing. The rest was all glowing skin and chiseled contour.
