It's clear that Jonathan Anderson of JW Anderson is no stranger to a good sneaker silhouette, and after multiple years of successful collaborations, the British fashion House has ushered in it's first in-house sneaker.
The hybrid-esque shoe is constructed from leather and canvas and arrives in multiple colour ways for the bold and the subtle wearer - green, orange, purple, white on white, black on black, white and gum, and brown and gum iterations. Forming the base, a thick rubber sole surrounds the foot of the shoe, reminiscent of the brand's stacked brogue that ushered in the JW Anderson DNA in it's formative years.
"The initial idea came from the idea of cladding a surface. Applying different paper-cutouts and something that was angular." Anderson wrote on Instagram. Pulling inspiration from "...something early gym shoes — that primitive form of craft where you have leather onto canvas, roughly stitched on." Anderson told High Snobiety "The most essential thing is the base shape," he continued. "The exaggeration of the toe cap, almost cartoon-shaped. Sneakers are incredibly technical to make, and I wanted to find a balance between the hand of the maker and the technology at the same time, so it's not over-prescribed. I like that these feel rough, and more raw."

It is a sneaker that feels true to the JW Anderson way: exaggerated shapes and oversized proportions melded with vibrant colour blocked tones. Blurring the line between a trainer and a heavy-soled boot, it feels like the perfect shoe for every day wear.
