It is finally time for LVMH to reveal the finalists for its 2021 Prize - a prestigious award that will give the opportunity for one winner to receive a year long mentorship with the multinational conglomerate. In a slight plot twist, LVMH are breaking away from the curb with its selection of nine finalists instead of the usual eight selected, who will present collections to a jury who will be announced in the near future.

The talented finalists this year include Christopher John Rogers, the New York based designer who dressed Vice President Kamala Harris in her iconic purple coat for president Joe Biden's inauguration, and Nensi Dojaka, a RUSSH favourite whose fine, lingerie-like designs have been coveted by the likes of Bella Hadid and Adwoa Aboah.

Alongside Christopher John Rogers and Nensi Dojaka, are British menswear designer Bianca Saunders and Rui Zhou - the designer behind Dua Lipa’s Rolling Stone cover look. The other four finalists include Colm Dillane of KidSuper, Charles de Vilmorin, Conner Ives, Lukhanyo Mdingi and Kika Vargas.

This year the luxury conglomerate is placing an emphasis on planetary impact as well as skill and talent. Delphine Arnault, founder of the LVMH Prize, explained in a press release that the nine finalists were selected in part for their “great know-how and their strong environmental awareness.”

The LVMH Prize final will be held in September at the Louis Vuitton Foundation, where we will find out who the lucky recipient of the mentorship program will be.

"Each year we are stunned by the breadth of the amazing talent we encounter from across the globe and this year is absolutely no exception! Congratulations to all of our finalists - we can’t wait to see more from the final nine." LVMH wrote in an Instagram post announcing the finalists.
