You would be lying if you said you had never dreamed about what it might be like to be adopted into the home of Sandy and Kristen Cohen. That's right, we're talking about The OC – the early 2000s series that in the words of our digital director, and major O.C fan, "made soap operas cool again." I can't say I disagree. When speculation broke earlier this year alluding to the possibility of a reboot; I was entirely on board. While there's still no word on whether the reboot will go ahead, thankfully, we have something to satisfy our needs in the interim. The OC is getting a podcast, and I'm already its number one listeners.
Two of the show's most defining cast members, Rachel Bilson, who portrayed the forever iconic Summer Roberts; and Melinda Clarke, who played the Julie Cooper, are at the helm of The OC podcast. The memorable duo announced the news yesterday, sharing that the unexpected – but highly-appreciated – show would be aptly named, Welcome to the OC, Bitches!

Now, this is all very exciting, but what will Bilson and Clarke actually talk about? As explained in the show's official description, Welcome to the OC, Bitches! will be a rewatch podcast. This means that every week, we will get to revisit iconic episodes throughout the series with the duo as they share behind-the-scenes scoops” and interview guests who were “part of the OC experience.”
"Join the original OC bitches, friends and co-stars Rachel Bilson and Melinda Clarke, for a trip back to the early 2000s. Zip up your Juicy Couture tracksuits and grab a seat by the pool while they deliver the ultimate OC-rewatch podcast," the synopsis reads.
I don't think I've ever been more excited to wear a velour tracksuit again in my life.
The OC podcast is being supported by Omny; which is where you'll be able to catch the first episode of the show – dropping on April 27th. Bilson also shared in her Instagram post that each episode will be accompanied by a separate YouTube video every week. We love to see it.
