Candle collaborations are always an exciting announcement. Simply because most of us like candles, and the meeting of two creative minds always feels special and interesting, particularly when it comes to scent. The GANNI X Boy Smells candle collaboration titled Park Life, is no exception to this rule, and we're anticipating its triumph upon its launch.
Made using responsibly sourced ingredients, the cult brands have created a warming scent of ginger, basil and festive fig with sage, clove, tonka bean, and rustic sandalwood, all in the name of the holidays and cooler weather in the Northern Hemisphere. "During lockdown, taking some time out in nature really kept me sane. In Copenhagen, we have such dark winters. I've always loved lighting candles around the house to create some hygge." Says GANNI creative director, Ditte Reffstrup. "When the opportunity came up to work with Boy Smells, I was really excited. I love how we care about the same things, like creating a candle with responsibly sourced ingredients that is fully recyclable. It's a super natural scent, but with a playful warm side. Bringing that park life in. the name of the candle is a little nod to my favourite 90s Brit pop band."
The candles packaging naturally strays from Boy Smells' classic black and pink, minimal and millennial look, switching a black recyclable glass vessel with a metallic green iteration featuring a glided silver interior, which feels aptly festive. The label is a simple black on white display, featuring the name of the candle alongside the text 'Boy Smells X GANNI'. With vegetal notes and warm accents, with are simultaneously invigorating and comforting, this multidimensional scent transports the mind to an amber toned vision of nature.
