The most illusive star of Death on the Nile is neither Gal Gadot or Armie Hammer. Nor is it any of the rest of the all-star cast.

It is in fact the incomparable 128-carat Tiffany Diamond.

The jewel, made famous by Audrey Hepburn appears in the new 20th Century Studios daring mystery-thriller, Death on the Nile. In fact this iconic diamond necklace is at the centre of the film's plot.

While we haven't seen much from the film just yet, apart from the first Death on the Nile trailer and a few film stills, we know that the Tiffany Diamond necklace makes its appearance on Gal Gadot's character Linnet Ridgeway Doyle.

This diamond is so illusive, that it's only ever been seen four times in its 143 year history. It was last worn by Lady Gaga at the 2019 Academy Awards.

It's worth noting that the one that Gal Gadot wears is actually a fanciful recreation of this priceless icon. Filming with the real diamond would surely be a challenge with the intense security detail attached to an artefact like this.

“The Tiffany Diamond is a priceless symbol of the highest standards of virtuosity and craftsmanship at Tiffany, and rarely makes an appearance beyond its vault,” said Reed Krakoff, chief artistic officer.

“A central role in the adaptation of Agatha Christie’s classic novel is deserving of our priceless diamond.”
