Watch the Dior Cruise 2021 show

Dior Cruise 2020/21

The latest show to live stream this month is the Dior Cruise Show for 2021. And what a wonderful show it was.

Cruise collections are always something of a fashion-fan favourite. This year especially, Cruise shows are a very welcome form of escapism. Watching glamorous resortwear float down a runway helps us dream of sunny mornings on the beaches of Cannes and sultry evenings in the hills of Ravello.

Dior's Cruise collection was presented in a real runway show. Unlike the live stream to introduce the Haute Couture collection - which was an elegant film by director Matteo Garrone - the Cruise show is an in-real-life runway show. It's almost an entirely normal showcase, apart from there being no audience.

The physical show took place in the dreamland of Lecce, a town in the South of the Puglia region. In this quiet corner of the world waters are turquoise, stone walls are white, the sun it bright and all the building have a story to tell. It's the perfect setting for a Cruise collection.

The show happened at the Duomo di Lecce, with a set that required 12 days to assemble. The traditional luminarie weigh a total of 60 tons and featured 30,000 colored LED bulbs, while the catwalk takes 2.25 minutes to walk.

You can see the set up in the video below.

Since Dior was unable to bring an audience to this wonderful place, instead, it's bring a little slice of Lecce to you. You're invited to watch the stream of this special event from your own home - see it below.

It aired at 8:45pm Paris time which was 4:45am on Thursday 23 July for those watching in Australia. Fortunately the stream was made available post show.

Just because we can't actually get to Italy, doesn't mean we can't still live the experience.

We hope you enjoy Dior's Cruise 2021 show.
