The 2021 Golden Globes nominations have been announced, and they are...unprecedented to say the least. We churned through a lot of screen time last year, and the nominations are certainly a reminder of this, alongside the reminder of how confused the system/Hollywood truly is. The most unprecedented nominations of course are those for Emily in Paris, the Netflix series that we all secretly watched because it was so bad it's good. Among slightly more predictable TV nominations comes Anya Taylor-Joy for The Queens Gambit, Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant for The Undoing, Emma Corrin and Olivia Coleman for The Crown, and Daisy-Edgar Jones for Normal People. For film, we see Michelle Pfeiffer for French Exit, Vanessa Kirby for Pieces of a Woman, Frances McDormand for Nomadland. Of course, it wouldn't be an awards show without a diversity issue, and the Globes biggest downfall is the lack of nominations for Michaela Coel for her prolific series I May Destroy You, a noticeable and gaping hole in the list of nominations.
Below, you can see the full list of who has been nominated to potentially take home an Golden Globe on February 28, 2021.
